Joint contestable funding round 2017

A Better Start is working to find practical, evidence-based solutions that make a measurable difference for our children.

A Better Start National Science Challenge and national child health research charity Cure Kids announced the successful proposals for its joint contestable funding round of $2.6 m on 4 July 2017. The projects were selected from over 60 applications and focus on four key areas – obesity, mental health, literacy and autism spectrum disorder. The successful proposals reflect the focus in the contestable round for research with a strong potential to enable Māori and Pasifika children and their families to lead healthy and successful lives.
